Rollon presentes new 30% lighter telescopic linear guide rails

Rollon Group, a leader in the production of linear motion systems for various sectors, presents the latest innovation developed by its R&D team: a new telescopic guide rail which is 30% lighter than the standard product.

The new DE Series is a third lighter than the basic product, it was designed to meet the needs of aircraft interior builders.These rails combine the benefits of reduced weight and volume,with the quality and reliability typical of all Rollon products. The hardened tracks of the new rails can run for over 10,000 cycles, even under high loads  (around 130 kg applied to the end with the rail in fully extracted position), and maintain their ability to self-align with the mounting surfaces. This enables the aircraft interior apparatus to slide smoothly without any friction, while guaranteeing improved ergonomics and greater comfort for passengers

The construction features of the new light weight linear component, make it particularly suitable for applications such as the movement of first and business class seats in planes, and the movement of tracking, headrests, armrests and pull-out tables.

The lighter rails can result in an annual fuel savings of € 98 per kilogram of reduction, according to some experts’ estimates.

The ultra-light telescopic guide rails are also available with anti-corrosion treatment.
