With Hegra Rail, Rollon expands its range of telescopic rails with new profiles and materials.
New products offered to expand its range with complementary solutions: with the Hegra Rail telescopic rails family, Rollon enhances its offering, consolidating its global position as a global provider of linear motion systems. With the recent acquisition of Hegra, a German company specialized in the production of highly customized linear and telescopic rails, the Group based in Vimercate extends its range of solutions with different telescopic guide profiles with ball cage capable of handling high loads up to 20 kN per pair, overextensions up to 200% of the length of the guide in closed position and available in different materials such as aluminum or stainless steel AISI 304 and AISI 316.
The Hegra Rail product family includes 11 telescopic rails with new profiles, divided in five categories: partially extended rails - from 60 to 66% of the rail length in closed position- fully extended rails (100%), overextended rails, featuring a 150 to 200% overextension, and – in addition to the above – telescopic rails for heavy load and S profile rails, both with 100% extension.
Hegra Rail products allow Rollon to expand its offering with original options for designing new applications in fields such as industrial machinery, rolling stock, automotive and special vehicles. By offering a more comprehensive product range, Rollon aims to meet the more specific requirements of each application, consolidating its position as a global provider in the linear motion industry.
The width range of the new Rollon telescopic rails is extended from 26 to 74 millimeters, whilst their heights range from 30 to 240 millimeters: in total, eleven variants of size are available. Such a wide range of products allows loads between 0.6 to 20 KiloNewton to be transported and handled per pair of rails, according to their model and length.
Range versatility is also ensured by the new accessories available for the rails: from shock absorbing systems which reduce the end of stroke impact, to locking systems both in the open and closed position, to snap systems.
Following are the five product categories of the Hegra Rail family:
Telescopic guides for partial extensions
Telescopic guides for partial extensions of about 50% of the total length. These include a fixed guide and a cursor which is the mobile part and comes in various shapes and sizes. The high rigidity of the system arises from the way the fixed part and the cursor are coupled.
Telescopic guides for full extensions
Telescopic guides for full extensions of 100% of the total length. These consist of three stages with sections of different shapes and measurements.
Telescopic guides for overextensions
Telescopic guides for overextensions up to 200% of the total length. These consist of four stages (5 for the model with extension up to 200%) with sections of different shapes and measurements. The use of intermediate section with high moment of inertia results in high rigidity of the system and a high load capacity even with the guide completely extended.
Telescopic guides for heavy loads
Telescopic guides for full extensions of 100% of the total length. These consist of three stages, with an intermediate section having a double-T structure. These telescopic guides, available in various sizes, are conceived specifically for handling heavy loads, up to 20 kN per pair, ensuring low bending and high rigidity of the system.
Telescopic guides with S-sections
Telescopic guides for full extensions of about 100% of the length. These consist of 3 stages, the intermediate section is S-shaped. The telescopic guides are available in various sizes and combine high rigidity with a narrow cross-section.
