An international team of professionals to fly with aircraft interiors
Almost 40 million flights crossed the skies in 2018 and the trend seems destined to increase. The aeronautical industry has grown in a similar way, chalking up an average growth of 9% in recent years. Rollon, a specialist in linear movement solutions, is not on the sidelines: after over 15 years of service in this sector, it has decided to accelerate its own organization.
The group has strengthened its structure by developing a cross-disciplinary commercial organization with key account managers supervising the more strategic countries on the global market and a dedicated engineering and R&D team. The objective is to make Rollon rails for this sector even lighter in weight and more reliable than they are right now. This process is under the supervision of a dedicated manager, Federico Banti.
“Our organization aims to satisfy our clients’ needs in all linear movement applications in the area of cabin interiors with personalized solutions, designed specifically for the applications that they were conceived for, and lighter than before,” explained Banti.
Rollon’s Aerospace division was created to effectively fulfill the needs of a global industry.
“Now more than ever, design development requires the involvement of many professionals and companies, which are geographically distant from one another, but each one brings their contribution through their specific skills. It goes without saying that offering technical and strategic support on a global level has become an indispensable condition for becoming a trusted partner in this area.”
If on one hand, Rollon has shown that it can immediately understand trends in the aeronautical sector, on the other, it is also capable of quickly turning them into real solutions. In the first phase of the design process, the dedicated engineering team brainstorms personalized design solutions. After that, the second phase involves making the products through a strongly industrialized process.
Most of this production process happens inside the company’s factories. In this way, Rollon is able to react very quickly to produce prototypes and serial products, while remaining immune to the criticalities that a supply chain with many sub-suppliers can generate. This is a huge advantage in an industry that requires extremely rapid reactions and quick production of solutions.
Time to market
This growing market is recording an increasing number of orders for new aircraft, which requires greater production volumes in less time. Time to market has therefore become a crucial aspect, and Rollon has proved to be extremely competitive: they are often able to reduce lead time to 4 or 6 weeks, from development to supply.
“For many years, we have been successful in a demanding and complex industry, such as aeronautics, due to our consolidated internal competencies and flexibility within the development stages. These unique qualities are the basis for each new project, and our clients seem to appreciate them more every day,” said Banti.
Rollon solutions for the aeronautical sector will be presented at the 2019 edition of Aircraft Interiors in Hamburg, stand 1C40, from 2 to 4 April at Hamburg Messe.
