What are Ball Screws?
Ball screws are mechanical linear actuators that convert rotational motion into precise linear movement through a system of recirculating balls. How do ball screws work?
Recirculating ball screws operate by using a threaded shaft and a nut filled with ball bearings that circulate continuously within the raceways. As the shaft rotates, the balls roll between the nut and the screw, converting rotation into smooth and efficient linear motion. This rolling contact reduces wear, increases durability and provides consistent positioning accuracy even at high speeds or under heavy loads.
