Rollon announces the expansion of its E-SMART and R-SMART linear actuator ranges, introducing new sizes and innovative features. This expansion includes the addition of a new size to the E-SMART range and two new sizes to the R-SMART range, as well as the launch of the R-SMART-R, a new actuator model featuring hardened prismatic rails for higher load capacity.
October 17, 2024: Rollon, a global leader in linear motion solutions, announces the expansion of its E-SMART and R-SMART ranges of linear actuators, further strengthening its product offerings in the field of high-performance linear motion. With this expansion, Rollon introduces new sizes for both the E-SMART and R-SMART linear actuators, along with the launch of the new R-SMART-R, a compact linear unit featuring hardened prismatic rails for increased load capacity.
The expanded E-SMART series now includes a wider range of sizes, from a width of 30 mm to the newly added 144 mm size, providing greater versatility for varied applications. Similarly, the R-SMART range has been enhanced with the addition of two new sizes (230 mm and 280 mm), designed to meet the demands of applications requiring higher load capacities in compact spaces. Additionally, Rollon’s introduction of the R-SMART-R further enhances its range, offering a robust solution with hardened prismatic rails that increase durability and reliability in demanding environments.

E-SMART actuators: Technical features and advantages
The E-SMART actuators are engineered for versatility, featuring a self-supporting structure with extruded and anodized aluminium profiles, available in a variety of sizes up to 144 mm. Designed to offer superior performance, the units utilize a steel-reinforced polyurethane belt with an AT pitch, which ensures smooth motion, high load transmission, low noise, and compactness. The carriage is made of machined anodized aluminium and is guided and supported by a recirculating ball guide system featuring one or more blocks. The flexible, symmetrical design of the E-SMART actuators allows for easy gearbox mounting on either side, making them suitable for multi-axis configurations and a wide range of applications, especially in environments where cleanliness is maintained.
R-SMART and R-SMART-R actuators: Technical features and advantages
Rollon’s R-SMART and R-SMART-R actuators are built for applications requiring high load capacities in compact spaces. Available in sizes ranging from 120 mm to the new 230 mm and 280 mm, these units offer a durable, self-supporting extruded aluminum structure. While the R-SMART units feature dual rail recirculating ball bearing guides, the R-SMART-R incorporates hardened prismatic rails, providing higher load handling and reliability.
Both R-SMART and R-SMART-R units feature a steel-reinforced polyurethane belt that helps ensure efficient motion and high load transmission. Designed for tough environments and heavy-duty applications, they offer extended maintenance intervals and are compatible with self-lubricating sliders or roller blocks with felts for self-lubrication. These actuators are ideal for automated industrial lines and dirty environments where maintenance is challenging.
In addition, the two symmetrical heads on both R-SMART and R-SMART-R units help ensure greater versatility, allowing gearbox assembly on either side, which is especially beneficial in multi-axis configurations.
