Things to know

What are linear guides used for?

The main purpose of linear guides is to support and guide loads in straight movements, improving efficiency and motion quality. These components are used in sectors such as industrial automation, robotics, packaging and material handling. Linear guides are also used in machinery that requires accurate motion control, stability, repeatability, precision and friction reduction.

Rollon offers different types of linear guides designed to meet specific industry requirements. Compact Rail, for example, is a self-aligning guide and are particularly suitable for applications requiring smooth running in the presence of impurities. X-Rail linear guides, made of corrosion-resistant materials, are ideal for applications in adverse conditions. The Easyslide, with its ball-bearing system, ensure high performance under heavy loads and in a compact design.

For the highest precision requirements, Mono Rail is the ideal choice due to its ability to support extremely accurate linear movements. In contrast, Speedy Rail is designed for speed applications and it is made of extruded aluminium, offering both lightness and robustness.

These are just a few of the different types of linear guides that make up the Rollon offer, to which are added numerous other products in a wide and varied range.

What are the advantages of linear guides?

Linear guidance systems offer numerous advantages that make them indispensable in many industrial applications. The main advantage is the ability to minimise friction through the use of rolling elements such as bearings or balls. This leads to greater energy efficiency and reduced component wear, extending the service life of machines.
